OWCP Doctor in Kansas City for Federal Injured Workers
Injured on the job as a federal employee? Core Medical Center provides physician-directed evaluation, treatment and the Department of Labor documentation your OWCP claim requires, coordinated under one roof so you can focus on recovery, not paperwork.
In short: an OWCP doctor diagnoses your federal work injury, builds a treatment plan, and writes the objective reports the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs needs to keep your FECA claim moving. We handle the medical side from the first visit through return to work, including CA-1, CA-2, CA-17 and CA-20 documentation.
The process
Your Path Through an OWCP Claim
-
File Your Claim
Report the injury and file your CA-1 (traumatic injury) or CA-2 (occupational disease) with your agency. We help you understand exactly what the Department of Labor needs to accept it.
-
Start Authorized Care
We evaluate your injury and begin physician-directed treatment. For accepted OWCP claims, care is billed directly to the DOL, with no out-of-pocket cost to you.
-
Document Everything
We provide the objective findings and duty-status reports (CA-17) your claim requires, on time, so your benefits and treatment keep moving.
-
Recover and Return
Coordinated therapy and a documented return to duty, with case expansion, reopening, or an independent exam if your condition changes.

Federal Workers' Comp & OWCP FAQ
What is an OWCP doctor?
An OWCP doctor evaluates and treats federal employees injured on the job and provides the medical documentation the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs requires under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act. At Core Medical Center that care is physician-directed and coordinated with our on-site therapy and rehabilitation teams in Blue Springs, serving the Greater Kansas City metro.
Do I need to file a CA-1 or CA-2 first?
Your claim starts with your agency: a CA-1 for a traumatic injury or a CA-2 for an occupational disease. You do not need it finalized to be seen. Bring your claim number and accepted conditions if you have them, and we provide the CA-17 duty-status reports and objective findings your claim needs.
Do you treat USPS, TSA, VA and federal law enforcement employees?
Yes. We care for federal injured workers across agencies, including postal and USPS workers, TSA officers, VA employees, federal law enforcement, Bureau of Prisons staff and other federal civilians. Eligibility for OWCP benefits is determined by the Department of Labor.
Is treatment really $0 out-of-pocket?
For an accepted OWCP claim, authorized treatment is billed directly to the Department of Labor, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to you. Bring your claim number and accepted conditions and our front desk will confirm authorization for your specific situation.
My OWCP claim was denied. Can you help?
Yes. We help with denied claims by providing the objective medical documentation and narrative reports that support your case, and we assist with case expansion and reopening when new conditions are connected to your injury.
Can you help with a schedule award or impairment rating?
Yes. Through our independent medical exam service we provide impairment-rating documentation that supports a schedule award when you reach maximum medical improvement.
How soon can I be seen?
Same-week appointments are typically available for federal injured workers so evaluation, treatment and documentation can begin promptly.
